Peer Review Process
Jurnal Analisa Tropika Indonesia
Jurnal Analisa Tropika Indonesia implements a rigorous, objective, and professional peer review process as part of its commitment to maintaining the quality of scientific publications, academic integrity, and the validity of published research. The review process is conducted to ensure that every published article demonstrates scientific contribution, research novelty, valid methodology, and relevance to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of Agrotechnology, Agribusiness, and Environment.
All editorial and peer review processes are carried out based on the principles of:
- academic independence,
- objectivity,
- confidentiality,
- professionalism,
- and scientific publication ethics.
Initial Editorial Screening
Each submitted manuscript will undergo an initial screening conducted by the editor to evaluate:
- the suitability of the article with the journal’s focus and scope,
- the quality of the initial scientific content,
- the completeness of the manuscript structure and formatting,
- compliance with the Author Guidelines,
- and adherence to scientific publication ethics standards.
At this stage, the editor also conducts a similarity check using plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the manuscript.
Articles that do not meet the journal’s initial standards may be:
- returned to the author for preliminary revision,
- or rejected before entering the peer review stage.
Double-Blind Peer Review System
The Indonesian Tropical Analysis Journal implements a:
Double-Blind Peer Review system.
Under this system:
- the identity of the author is concealed from the reviewer,
- and the identity of the reviewer is concealed from the author.
The implementation of the double-blind review system aims to:
- maintain the objectivity of the evaluation,
- avoid conflicts of interest,
- and enhance the independence and professionalism of the scientific evaluation process.
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the editorial screening stage will be assigned to reviewers or peer reviewers who possess expertise and competence relevant to the subject area of the article.
Each article is generally reviewed by at least:
- two independent reviewers.
Reviewer selection is based on:
- area of expertise,
- research experience,
- scientific publication record,
- and academic competence.
Reviewers may come from various academic institutions and research organizations to maintain the independence and quality of the review process.
Review Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers evaluate articles based on several scientific aspects, including:
- research originality and novelty,
- relevance of the topic to the journal’s scientific fields,
- clarity of research objectives,
- quality of research methodology,
- validity of data and analysis,
- accuracy of the interpretation of research findings,
- depth of scientific discussion,
- contribution of the research to the advancement of knowledge,
- quality of references and citations,
- and the overall quality of scientific writing.
Reviewers also provide comments, suggestions, and constructive recommendations to improve the quality of the article.
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editor will make an editorial decision under one of the following categories:
- Accepted without Revision
- Accepted with Minor Revision
- Accepted with Major Revision
- Resubmit for Review
- Rejected
Editorial decisions are made objectively based on:
- the review results,
- the scientific quality of the article,
- the contribution of the research,
- and the journal’s editorial policies.
The editor’s decision is final.
Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the comments and recommendations provided by reviewers and editors within the specified timeframe.
Revised manuscripts will:
- be re-evaluated by the editor,
- and, if necessary, may be returned to the reviewers for further review.
Authors are expected to provide systematic and clear responses to all reviewer comments.
Final Editing and Publication
Articles that are accepted will proceed to the following stages:
- copyediting,
- layout editing,
- proofreading,
- and final publication.
All articles are published electronically through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
Confidentiality and Ethical Standards
All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers are required to maintain the confidentiality of article information throughout the review process.
Reviewers and editors are not permitted to:
- use information contained in the manuscript for personal benefit,
- distribute the manuscript content to other parties,
- or engage in actions that may create conflicts of interest.
All peer review processes are conducted in accordance with scientific publication ethics standards and academic integrity principles.
