Jurnal Analisa Tropika Indonesia is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality of scientific work, and publication quality through the implementation of a strict anti-plagiarism policy throughout the article publication process.
Every manuscript submitted to this journal must be the original work of the author, free from plagiarism, data fabrication, research falsification, and other violations of academic ethics. All articles will undergo a similarity check process before entering the peer-review stage and subsequent editorial procedures.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using ideas, data, information, methods, images, tables, or writings of others without providing proper acknowledgment or citation in accordance with scientific standards.
Forms of plagiarism include, but are not limited to:
- Copying part or all of a scientific work without citing the source.
- Using ideas, data, or research results of others without clear attribution.
- Paraphrasing without proper citation.
- Self-plagiarism or the reuse of one's own previously published work without adequate disclosure.
- Duplicate publication in more than one journal or scientific publication medium.
- Citation manipulation for specific purposes.
Similarity Screening
All submitted manuscripts will be checked using similarity detection software such as:
- Turnitin,
- iThenticate,
- or other similar tools.
The screening process is conducted to ensure the originality of articles and to prevent violations of scientific publication ethics.
Jurnal Analisa Tropika Indonesia establishes a maximum similarity index threshold of:
- ≤ 25% total similarity,
- with no excessively high similarity from a single source.
Similarity evaluation is not based solely on the percentage of similarity but also considers:
- the writing context,
- the source of similarity,
- the type of manuscript,
- and the appropriateness of quotations and scientific citations.
Editorial Policy on Plagiarism
Editors have full authority to take action against manuscripts suspected of plagiarism or other publication ethics violations.
Editorial actions may include:
- Requesting revisions and citation corrections from the author.
- Rejecting the manuscript before the review process.
- Cancelling the article publication process.
- Retracting an article that has already been published.
- Notifying the author’s institution or affiliation when necessary.
- Restricting future manuscript submissions for a specified period for authors who commit serious violations.
Self-Plagiarism and Redundant Publication
Jurnal Analisa Tropika Indonesia does not accept:
- duplicate publication,
- redundant publication,
- or the reuse of previously published work without clear and relevant disclosure.
Authors must inform the journal if the submitted article is an extension, part of, or a continuation of previous research.
Author Responsibilities
Authors are fully responsible for:
- ensuring the originality of the manuscript,
- using citations correctly,
- providing complete reference information for all sources,
- and complying with scientific publication ethics standards.
Authors are also required to ensure that the article:
- is not under consideration by another journal,
- has never been published previously,
- and does not contain manipulated research data.
